McClellan Mountain Bike Trail

The McClellan Bike Trail consists of 4.5 miles of purpose built singletrack and is perfect for beginner riders of all ages.  It is the first specially design NICA trail in the state of Alabama.  Currently, the system has 4 trail segments:  Reveille, Retreat, WAC, and 2-Star Betty, named after Major General Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Clarke. MG Clarke was the first 2-Star General in the U.S. Army and last director of the Women’s Army Corp.  Equally fun in either direction, the trails twist, turn and roll around Sunset Hill and along the base of the Baltzell Mountains.

The trails are located on a former Army installation.  While it is highly unlikely, Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) may located on the site.  Please stay on designated trails and do not ride in undesignated areas.  If you do find anything that might be UXO, call 9-1-1.

Chief Ladiga Trail

The Chief Ladiga Trail is a rails to trails greenway that extends 32.5 miles the Georgia state line to Weaver, Alabama.  The entire trail is paved and follows the bed of the former Seaboard/CSX Railroad.  The Trail extends into Georgia as the Silver Comet Trail for an additional 63 miles, making it the longest continuous paved rail trail in the United States.
